Counseling/Psychotherapy
Counseling (or psychotherapy) is an effective tool which helps you to untangle nagging issues and put your past experiences into perspective, allowing you to move forward with clarity and confidence.
Jeri Apple’s approach to marriage and family therapy is brief, solution-focused, with attainable therapeutic goals. Jeri knows what’s needed to help you with the issues that keep you stuck. Her expertise includes the following:
- Family of origin issues
- Life transitions
- Bereavement
- Mild to moderate depression
Relationship Therapy - Why it's important
The ultimate goal of relationship therapy is to reduce distress and promote satisfaction and individual wellbeing. This is accomplished by learning:
- Skills for relating in a healthy way
- Techniques for conflict management (because we know that conflict is going to happen)
- Tools for creating a shared vision for the relationship
- How to function independently and interdependently
The focus is not just on the problems or issues facing the couple, but on helping couples identify the strengths they bring to the relationship. When this happens stronger partnerships are formed and more intimacy is experienced. Couples therapy focuses on relationship building - skills we often did not learn at home.
FAMILY THERAPY – Taking it a step further
Families encounter any number of problems throughout the developmental life cycle. Families can be first time families, remarried families, never married families, divorced families, single parent families, etc.
Jeri Apple uses a holistic and systems perspective to health care and is concerned with the overall, long-term well-being of individuals and their families. With that in mind, she uses skills honed as a Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor and Licensed Clinical Social Worker to help put families back on track and move forward in a healthy and nurturing way.
